Chihuahua

Small size but big personality and a good watchdog. Bold & confident, described as terrier-like. They love hard, love their pet parents, require minimum grooming and make excellent apartment dogs. Don’t be fooled by their small size, they’re very protective.

Cavalier King James

They retain the sporty nature of their spaniel ancestors. If they’re not sitting on your lap, getting a belly rub nothing makes them happier than to flush a bird. Adapts well to apartment living

Maltese

These fluff-balls not only excel as a companion but also a great therapy dog. They just love to be with their people even novice pet parents and apartment dwellers will find these pups to be excellent furry family members without doubt.

Jack Russell (short-legged)

The JR is an energetic & spirited dog, packed with a lot of personality into his small body. JRs are endlessly amusing, enjoy life & love their running around space too .

Cocker Spaniel

The Cocker Spaniel is a beloved companion, beautiful to look at , pet, never more pleased than when they are pleasing you. They’re as happy to snuggle on the couch or to romp the yard with the kids. The Cocker is a very gentle & easy-going  highly trainable and adaptable addition to the family.

Pug

 

Personality wise pugs are happy, affectionate, charming, playful and a wee bit mischievous. They make for great apartment pets and will get along with novice pet parents. If you’re looking for a loving easy-going pal this breed may just be for you.

Scottish Terrier

Independent, intelligent & hilarious in their dignified seriousness. They’re a true terrier which makes them an excellent watchdog. Thanks to those short legs your Scottie isn’t going to train for a hefty marathon with you but they can be a perfect walking companion. You’ll enjoy a rodent-free yard with a Scottie but watch out for the holes the dig haha!

Pekingese

Pekingese were bred for centuries to be the cherished companions of the imperial family of China. Today they’re still cherished family companions also show dogs. French Bulldog

Historically accompanied English lace makers to France, where they acquired the ‘Frenchie’ moniker. The Frenchie is small but substantial in build with a powerful muscular body. He sports a short easy-care coat to accompany his easygoing character.

 

Italian Greyhound

Historically, was a favorite companion of noblewomen especially in Italy. The small hound is more than a lapdog with the speed, endurance and determination to hunt small game. They’re also a family dog admired for their agility and obedience. Shower your pup with the love they deserve and toss in play and exercise time, you’ll have a devoted hound.

Dachshund

Daxies are scent hound dogs bred to hunt badgers, rabbits & other tunneling animals. Hunters even used packs of Daxies to e trail wild boar. Today their versatility makes them  excellent family companions. Half a dog high lol and half long, don’t let them fool you this small gorgeous drop-eared dogs are tough tough to take on a badger.

English bulldog

English bulldogs have a sweet disposition, are somewhat predictable, dependable and excellent with children, only needing moderate exercise. People oriented as a breed, they actively solicit human attention. They have also retained the courage that was originally bred into them for bull-baiting so they make fine chubby watchdogs & yes they can be aggressive to unfamiliar dogs.. They’re great apartment pets and do not typically require a yard. They are generally loud breathers and tend to snore & wheeze. The wrinkles on the face should be wiped regularly to prevent skin infections.

 

Beagle

The temperament of a Beagle is notoriously friendly & gentle. Small, compact & hardy, Beagles are active companions for kids & adults alike. Canines of this dog breed are merry and fun loving. They’re happy go lucky fellas and loyal. They’re also scenthounds and still used for that purpose to this day.

Yorkshire terrier

Small in size but big in personality. The YT makes a feisty but loving & affectionate companion. Yorkies have won many fans with their devotion to their owners. They seem quite full of themselves & why not,,, with their silky coat & perky topknot, they’re just the most glamorous representatives of the dog world lol and are sure to attract attention.

Boston Terrier

BT’s are known for being intelligent sometimes too much so, Their lively, affectionate nature makes them extremely loveable with their tuxedo-like markings that earned them the nickname “American Gentleman”. They do great in just about any type of home and also set aside time for exercise & walks.

Bull Terrier

Distinguished by their long, egg-shaped head, the dog is a lover not a fighter though originally developed in the 19th century as a fighting dog. They’re affectionate to all members of their household especially children and their friendliness and love of people also means they don’t like to be left alone for long hour. They also need plenty of exercise and playtime.

 

Pomeranian

Cute, feisty, furry, extroverted, sociable, personal handbag, playful, intelligent, loyal ,perky need l say more. They do not seem to realize they are small in stature and  will occasionally tackle large dogs or at least verbally threaten them. They do not have a tendency towards obesity as they are naturally active. They enjoy learning new tricks and performing so be ready for a show. They also require regular grooming

Pembroke Welsh Corgi

 

Amongst the most agreeable housedogs, the Corgi is a strong, lively little herder who is super affectionate and companionable without being needy. A well built Corgi is really a bid dog in a small manageable package. Responds well to training, are vigilant watchdogs with acute senses and a bid dog bark.
